Vintage 1955 Bulova Senator 23 Jewel Self Winding Watch Box Speidel Runs

Condition

Pre-owned vintage condition. Watch is currently running and has been tested on a timegrapher, but it has not been recently serviced and accuracy is not guaranteed. Timegrapher testing showed approximately -43 seconds/day, 185° amplitude and 2.1 ms beat error at 18,000 bph at the time photographed. Because of its age and performance, a mechanical service is recommended.

The watch shows normal age-related wear, scratches, marks and patina. Crystal shows wear consistent with age. Please review all photographs carefully as they are part of the condition description.

Description

Offered here is a handsome vintage Bulova Senator 23 Jewel Self-Winding men’s wristwatch, dating to approximately 1955 based on the L5 date marking visible on the caseback.

This is an especially attractive presentation because the watch is accompanied by a vintage Bulova Senator presentation box/display and a period Bulova $49.50 price tag.

The silver-tone dial features an attractive concentric circular texture, applied gold-tone markers and hands, Bulova signature, “23 Jewels” designation and “Self Winding” marking.

The watch is fitted with a vintage Speidel expansion bracelet. The bracelet is marked Speidel and indicates stainless-steel bottom caps with 10K gold-filled top caps.
